Sam Schwartz is a percussionist and film composer whose music emphasizes an orchestral, symphonic sound. He is currently a master’s student at New York University, within the Screen Scoring program.
Schwartz is the composer of the films “Bessie’s Movie Date,” and “Lola,” (Winner, Best Documentary, 2025 San Diego Filipino Film Festival). In 2026, Schwartz won the NEC Composers Competition for his work, “Taking Flight.” Additionally, Schwartz is a 6-time Florida All-State winner and a 15-time Solo and Ensemble Superior award medalist.
Schwartz has played with the New World Symphony Orchestra, the Palm Beach Winds, and the Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches. His percussion ensemble, "Night of the Party," commissioned by Dreyfoos School of the Arts, was performed and recorded by Florida Atlantic University. His work, "Martian Madness," commissioned by Bak Middle School of the Arts, recently premiered at the 2025 Percussive Arts Society International Convention.
Sam obtained his bachelor’s degree at New England Conservatory of Music, studying with Michael Gandolfi. He is eager to collaborate and score your next project!
